From Tweets about Trade to Negotiations about Nukes:
How Asia-Pacific Countries and Companies Are (and Should Be) Dealing with Disruption in International Trade Law and Policy

Session Synopsis

This panel will delineate clearly the most dramatic disruptions to the multilateral and FTA systems since the Second World War. Examples include blockage of WTO Appellate Body candidates, CPTPP, NAFTA, Section 201, 232, and 301 trade remedies, and an array of trade sanctions and export controls. Panelists will present their thoughts on what governments and businesses are doing, and should do, to respond more effectively to these challenges. The panel also will explain what policies, including concerns about trade deficits and national security, are causing the disruptions, and what businesses might do to shape and adapt to those policies.
